Roger Lee McClain (77) of Neoga

Roger Lee McClain, 77 of Neoga, Illinois, passed away at 5:20 AM Wednesday September 13, 2023 in his residence surrounded by family.

He was born July 26, 1946 in Neoga Township Cumberland County, Illinois the son of Orval William and Sara Nell (Burton) McClain. Roger married Louann Bush May 2, 1981 in Neoga, Illinois. Roger was a member of the First Christian Church in Neoga, Illinois and former member of the Neoga Volunteer Fire Department. Roger was employed as a Material Handler at Trailmobile in Charleston, Illinois, a Custodian and Bus Driver for the Neoga Community School District in Neoga, Illinois, a Police Officer for the City of Neoga, Illinois, Rentfro Building Supply of Neoga, Illinois, was a accomplished Carpenter and a Little League Coach. Mr. McClain enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Louann McClain of Neoga, Illinois; Children, Andrea McClain (special friend Randy Plummer) of Toledo, Illinois, Mark McClain (Linda) of Effingham, Illinois, Jerry McClain (Danielle) Greenup, Illinois, Kristin Ticknor (Brian) of Okeechobee, Florida, Kurtis Shupe (Jamie) of Greenup, Illinois, Kyle Shupe (Becky) of Neoga, Illinois and Brent Shupe of Greenup, Illinois; 20 Grandchildren & several Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents; two brothers and one sister.

A Celebration Of Life for family and friends will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Swengel - O’Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, Illinois.
