LaVonne Kramer, 84, of Brownstown, died at 11:08 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2023 at SBL Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Elmo with Fr. Ron Lorilla officiating. Burial will follow at St. Clare Catholic Cemetery, Altamont. There will be a 4:45 p.m. prayer service followed by visitation from 5-7 on Friday, September 15th at Gieseking Funeral Home, Brownstown. Memorials may be made to Brownstown Golden Years Club or St. Mary’s Catholic Church CCW of St. Elmo or the donor’s choice.
LaVonne F. ‘Bonnie’ Kramer was born on Monday, February 20, 1939 in Effingham to Bernard and Theresia (Verdeyen) Bushue of Mason. She was sister to seven brothers and five sisters. She graduated from Effingham High School in 1956. She married Kenneth Kramer on August 10, 1957 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Edgewood. He preceded her in death on November 8, 2005. They resided in Brownstown and raised three children. She was a bank teller at the First National Bank of Brownstown for 25 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Elmo where she was involved with the CCW, Brownstown Golden Years Club, and Home Community Education (HCE) of Fayette County.
She is survived by: her sons, Stanley and Tammie Kramer of Brownstown and Kevin and Chris Kramer of Strasburg; daughter, Cheryl and Bill Foster of Vandalia; grandchildren, Michael Kramer of Seattle, WA, Kaitlyn & Vic Sharma of Oakville, MO, Alex Foster and Stacy Boaz and daughter Millie of Vandalia, Shelby and Brad Sutton of Troy, Jacob Kramer of Buckhorn, KY and fiancé Hannah Rogers Letohatchee, AL, Isaac and Mariah Kramer of Stewardson; great grandchildren, Adi Sharma of Oakville, MO, Keely McMurray of Oakville, MO and Lyla Hamilton of Strasburg; brothers, Lester James Bushue of Champaign, Lee Bernard (Louise) Bushue of Mason and Eugene Bushue of Crestwood, KY.
LaVonne was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, Paul Joseph Bushue, Clementine Agnus Boone, Irene Josephine Driskell, Emery Martin Bushue, Rosalie Mary King, Earl Joseph Bushue, Shirley Ann Willenborg, Wilma Caroline Knott, and Jerry Franklin Bushue.
