Troy Williams (60) of Columbia, SC

Troy Ryan Williams, 60, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away Monday, August 21, 2023 at Lexington Medical Center in Columbia.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Mason Christian Church with Jason Williams officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church.

Troy was born March 14, 1963, in Mesa, Arizona, the son of Reverend Jerald and Amy Williams. He was wellknown around the community for his musical talent, and he was always ready and willing to play you a song on his guitar. After growing up in Altamont, Troy spent many years living in Georgia and South Carolina working in salvage cars and construction. He was multi-talented in many areas of his life. He loved the outdoors and anything that related to nature, from fishing on the bank of a river or just enjoying a campfire in the woods. To say the very least, Troy was a man who was free-spirited, and he certainly lived life on his own terms. He is gone much too soon.

Troy is survived by daughter, Chelsea Gouchenouer (grandchildren Wade and Blair) of Effingham; Sisters, Ruth of Effingham; Pam (Joe) Hartoebben of Mayetta, Kansas; brother, Jason (Barb) of Altamont; Sister-in-law Sally (Oscar) Meyer of Mapleton, Illinois. Troy is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved him very much.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cindy; his parents; brother, Jerry; sisters, Peggy, Linda, and Retha.
