Howard L. "Butch" Bahrns (76) of Watson

Howard L. “Butch” Bahrns, 76, of Watson, IL, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at his home.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 11, 2023 at Watson Cemetery in Watson with military rites. No visitation is planned. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham, IL. In lieu of flower and gifts, memorials may be made to Watson United Methodist Church in Watson. Butch was born on May 5, 1947 in Effingham, IL, the son of Marvin and Clara (Becker) Bahrns. He married Marty Poynter Bahrns on February 11, 1977 and she survives. Butch was a member of Watson United Methodist Church. He was drafted into the United States Army in July of 1966, served in Germany, and was discharged in July of 1968. He was a gifted mechanic and owned BB’s Repair in Watson, as well as being a grain farmer and cattleman.

Butch is survived by his wife, Marty Bahrns of Watson; son, John Bahrns of Lerna, IL; a niece, and nephews.

Butch was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother, Stanley Bahrns; and niece, Kristen Bahrns Pryor.
