Peggy Sue Miller, 67, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 8, 2023 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Peggy was born on January 6, 1956, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Rayburn Dean and Norma E. (Matheny) Miller. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Effingham. Peggy was also a longtime volunteer with St. Anthony Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered with HSHS St. Anthony Hospice. She enjoyed crocheting and other needlework.
Peggy is survived by her sister, Barbara (husband, Jimmy) Comer of Fairview, TN; nephew, Scott (wife, Alex) Comer of Nashville, TN and his children, Britton, Kendal, Graham, and Ryder; niece, Allison Comer of Fairview, TN; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and grandparents, Wilburn and Lottchen Miller, and Ira and Pearl Matheny.
