Linda M. Hilt (84) of Watson

Linda M. Hilt, 84, of Watson, IL, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorials may be made to donor’s choice. Linda was born on January 9, 1939, in Stewardson, IL, the daughter of Edwin and Elsie (Rentfro) Kruger. She married Paul Hilt on April 13, 1957, and together they raised 6 children. He preceded her in death on April 4, 2022. Linda was a daycare provider for many years. She worked in dietary management for Mark’s Manor Nursing Home and then in dietary at St. Anthony’s Hospital, where she retired. Linda had a heart of gold and always put others first. She never complained and was always grateful for her life and blessings. Cooking was her love language. She loved her family beyond words and enjoyed little things like mowing her yard, the company of her cat, and going out to dinner. Linda was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and will be deeply missed.

Linda is survived by her children, Vickie (Gary) Schoenhoff of Effingham, Debbie (Ron) Miller of Shelbyville, Paula Antrim of Effingham, Nancy Larimore of Effingham, Carol (John) Hanna of Mason, and David (Denise) Hilt of Effingham; grandchildren, Jaymie (Jared) McCammon, Stephanie (Moises) Saabredra, Andy Miller, Brian (Miranda) Miller, Aaron Antrim, Levi (Jeanna) Antrim, Ashley (Bryce) Reiss, Chloe Larimore, Kyle Larimore, Carter Larimore, Cortney Hanna, Easton Hanna, Rachel Hanna, Maci (Shawn) Zerrusen, Taylor (Jonathan) Perkins, and Kacie (Deano) Tull; 18 great-grandchildren; and sister, Wanda Bruns.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; and sister, Patricia Sievers.
