Irma Louise Horn, age 93, of Dieterich, Illinois, passed away at 6:50 PM – Monday, August 14, 2023, at the Lutheran Care Center in Altamont, Illinois.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM – Saturday, August 19, 2023, at St John Lutheran Church, south of Dieterich, Illinois, with Pastor Dean Herberts, officiating. The burial will be in the Dieterich Village Cemetery in Dieterich, Illinois. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 PM – Friday, August 18, 2023, at the church, and 30 minutes before the service on Saturday. In loving memory of Irma, memorials may be made to the Dieterich Veterans Memorial maintenance fund. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois. Irma was born on June 29, 1930, in Dieterich, Illinois, the daughter of Louis and Clara (Miller) Mundt. She married Earl William “Punch” Horn on October 2, 1948, and he preceded her in death on June 2, 1998. Irma was the School Secretary for Dieterich Unit #30 for 25 years and served as the Dieterich Village Clerk for many years. Irma was confirmed and baptized at St John Lutheran Church and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Grace Ladies Aid, Dieterich American Legion Post #628 Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, Dieterich Ruritan Club, Dieterich Women’s Club, Dieterich 4th of July committee, and was a founding member of the Dieterich Area Veterans Memorial.

Irma is survived by: Children – Gary (Paula) Horn of Dieterich, Illinois; Darrell (Katie) Horn of Dieterich, Illinois; and Vivian (Danny) Sanders of Watson, Illinois Grandchildren – Carrie (John) Galbraith, Jennifer Kesl, Laura (Chris) Broska, Joshua (Brenda) Horn, Miranda Horn, Kim (Tony) Bryant, Bryan (Stacy) Sanders and Chris Sanders 15 Great Grandchildren Sister – Lorene Thoele of Teutopolis, Illinois

Irma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Ronnie Horn, brother Delbert Mundt and sister Verda Mae Schottman.
