Edwin "Butch" Martin (76) of Noble

Edwin “Butch” Martin, age 76, of Noble passed away on August 10, 2023 at 10:10 PM at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, Illinois.

A private family graveside service for Butch will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Olney, Illinois. The obituary can be viewed, and condolences left by clicking here. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Butch was born on June 7, 1947, in Clay County, Illinois, the son of Robert and Mary Maxine (Wiseman) Martin. Butch married Donna Hagen, his wife of 43 years, on May 24, 1980. Butch worked in the oil fields for most of his adult life. He spent an equal amount of time being a driller and tool pusher. When Butch wasn’t at work, he loved spending his time taking care of his family, especially his granddaughters. Butch would often read books on history, watch westerns, go camping and fishing. Butch was a good cook and liked to cook for his family.

Butch is survived by his loving wife Donna; His children and Grandchildren; daughter Kayla and Cody Fletcher of Newton, Illinois; son Darrin and Ashley Martin (grandchildren Elle and Leah Martin) of Edmond, Oklahoma; daughter Mandy and Vance Cobb (grandchildren Whitney, Kynsie, and Alex Kirby; Raegen, Rylee, and Ashton Welty; and Alyssa Cobb) of Flora, Illinois; son Leroy and Kelly Martin (grandchildren Andrea Branch; Dalton Zimmerman; and Logan, Megan, and Natasha Stone) of Flora, Illinois; daughter Angie and Tom Tolliver (grandchildren David and Matthew Tolliver) of Fort Wayne, Indiana. And several Great Grandchildren.

Butch is preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Timothy Wayne Martin, James Joe Martin, John (Mike) Martin, Perry Dean Martin, Darla Kay Henson, and Bobby Dale Martin, and multiple friends.
