Elizabeth “Betty” (Wurl) Morris died in Olney, Illinois on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
Betty was born on May 9, 1926, in Effingham County, Illinois. Her parents were Henry Wurl and Eleanor Grobengeiser. Betty married Hillard Morris of rural Mason, Illinois, and they were parents of three sons. Betty was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Altamont where she was very involved in church functions. She also volunteered for numerous community projects.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hillard, her brothers Melton and Alvin, her sons Allan and James, and her niece Diane.
She is survived by her son Richard, grandchildren Tyler (Karoline) Morris, Erin Morris, Kate (Jake) Bales, and Hilary Kohlschmidt, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private family service is planned. Donations may be made to the Garden (Memory Care Wing) of Richland Nursing and Rehab in Olney IL.
