Candy Fowler, age 67, of Effingham, Illinois, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 1, 2023, after a courageous 13-year battle with cancer.

Candy was the daughter of Joe Ann (Finch) Bullard, father Donald Bullard, both of Effingham, and Billie Paul (stepmother Lillian “Dolly” Paul) of Greenup.

Candy is preceded in death by her parents, her loving sister Nina McWhorter of Effingham, as well as her brother Billie Paul, Jr., of Greenup.

Candy is survived by her husband and best friend, Jack Fowler, three beautiful daughters, Angela (Herb) Hall of Neoga, Brandi Eirhart (partner Chris Sterling), and Joanie Brandt Fowler. She is also survived by her only son, Chad Eirhart. Additionally, she is survived by three grandchildren, Zander Eirhart, Zeva Sterling, Allix Rodgers, and an unborn grandson, due in early January 2024, whom she was so excited to meet! Candy is also survived by three loving sisters, Vickie (Steve Boling), Scarlott Lessard, and Debi Bullard Stout; and one brother, David (Danielle) Paul, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom simply adored her. In addition to her immediate family, Candy is survived by numerous surrogate children and life-long friends, all of whom were blessed to have her in their lives.

Candy was, and will forever be known as, “Everyone’s Big Sister”, and she will be forever loved and greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held on August 6, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m at the VFW Hall in Effingham, Illinois. All family and friends are welcome to join us in celebration of Candy’s life.
