Mary Ann Doedtman, 66, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at home.

Mary Ann was born on March 29, 1957, in Alton, IL, the daughter of Edwin W. and Molly S. (Sasser) Mintert.

Mary loved to go to work at Murphy’s Gas Station, and she especially loved her customers. Mary had a wonderful aura that could light up a room, and she enjoyed making people laugh. Family was important to Mary and she was one they could count on. Mary also loved windchimes and reminiscing about her 1964 Chevy Impala that she always loved. She was often found piddling and was known to enjoy a quiet evening in her hammock with a mudslide in her hand.

Mary is survived by her children, William Doedtman, Catherine “Katie” Doedtman, and Shannon Black; grandchildren, Shayna Hiltebeitel (Nick), Nate Martin, Draven Martin, Vinny Hollinshead, and Sean Martin; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Tracy Mintert (Candi) and Dennis Mintert; nephews, Cole Mintert (Rachael), Jim Helton (Debra), Jason Helton (Sheri), Travis Dawson (Christine), and Aarron Mintert; nieces, Sierra Bailey (David), Amy Hubbard (Josh), and Tasha Mintert; and her 4-legged family, Chance, Macy, and Pete.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Glenda Wilson, Danny Dawson, and Victoria Mintert.
