Diane Brockett, age 61, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Diane was born in 1962 in Illinois. She was a daughter to Paul and Barbara Sheehan and a sister to Paula and Thomas. She grew up in Neoga, IL. Diane married the love of her life, Kenneth Brockett in 1982. They went on to build a beautiful life together as they established roots wherever the United States Navy took them. Diane and Ken had two children, Chad Brockett and Dawn Carter. Together they raised their children in Jacksonville, FL and moved to Callahan, FL in 2016 to be closer to their grandchildren. If you had to describe Diane with just one word, that word would be selfless. Diane put the needs of others before hers, even when she was not feeling well. She loved her friends and family dearly. Diane was a devoted wife, a loving mother and the best nana to her three grandchildren. Diane loved to bake. To be able to enjoy her cinnamon rolls or her chocolate chip cookies was a real treat. She loved anything outdoors that allowed her to be in the sunshine. She was the biggest supporter of her family and the loudest cheerleader when she was watching her grandchildren play football or softball. Her grandchildren were so blessed to have the best Nana, and she wore that title proudly. Diane was a devoted Catholic. If she was not spending time with her family, she was volunteering at her local Church, Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church of Callahan. Diane was a beautiful person inside and out and she will be missed tremendously.

Diane is survived by her husband, Ken Brockett; children, Chad (Cara) Brockett and Dawn (Todd) Carter; and grandchildren, Hunter Brockett, Haylee and Wyatt Carter.
