Royal E. Kyle, 87, of Effingham, Illinois went to be with the Lord Monday, June 11, 2012 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 15 at Faith Lutheran Church, Shumway with Pastor Jason Rensner officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 14 at Hall Funeral Chapel, Effingham. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Moccasin Township, Beecher City. Royal was born April 15, 1925 in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of Glen and Bessie (Dial) Kyle. He married Lois Carroll September 18, 1948 in Summit Township. Royal was a retired Marathon Service Station owner and after retirement worked at the Effingham Country Club. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Shumway and an NRA lifetime member. Royal also served in the Illinois Reserve Militia.
His survivors include his wife, Lois of 63 years; daughter, Janet (husband Gene) Koebele and son Jim Kyle (friend Jane), all of Effingham; grandchildren, Trina (husband Dustin) Rothrock of Effingham, Megan (husband Adam) Millsop of Shoreview, Minn., Nikolas (wife Ashley) Kyle of Evansville, Ind., Rodger Kyle of Texarkana, Tex. and Kyle Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Nicole Lindsey of Rockford, Rylee, Keira and Peyton Rothrock of Effingham and Jackson Millsop of Shoreview, Minn.; brothers, Lloyd (wife Nancy) Kyle of Cottonwood, Ariz., Bill (wife Diane) Kyle of Nokomis, Ron (wife Sally) Kyle of Shumway and Joe (wife Kathy) Kyle of Veedersburg, Ind.; sisters, Irene Lewis of Decatur, Glenna Flesner of Centralia, Bonnie Durbin of Pekin and Shirley (husband Bob) Davis of Springfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia and grandson, Rick Kyle.
