Richard D. Howe, Jr. (64) of Altamont

Richard D. “Rick” Howe, Jr., 64, of Altamont passed away at 10:29 p.m., Thursday, June 22, 2023, at his home with his sisters at his side.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, June 26 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Rev. Joseph Havrilka officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time. Cremation will follow services and burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in St. Clare Cemetery, Altamont. Rick was born Friday, December 12, 1958, in Peoria, Illinois to Richard D., Sr. and Holley M.(Mitchell) Howe. Rick was in the boy scouts. He loved fishing and karaoke. Rick was in the Air Force for a short time and worked at Rohn’s in Morton and at Caterpillar in E. Peoria as a welder. After moving to Altamont, Rick worked at Luke’s Bar and Grill until he became ill.

He is survived by; his sisters, Susan (Clark) Levitt of Altamont and Debbie (Roger) Green of Peoria; daughter-in-law, Abigail Howe of Washington, Illinois; and four grandchildren, Sedona Howe of Bartonville, Illinois, Sebastian, Genevive, and Augustine Howe of Washington ; many cousins and two aunts; and his fur baby, Casper, whom Rick loved very much.

He was preceded in death by; his parents; sister, Linda Gebhart; maternal and paternal grandparents, and son, Jeremy Howe, all of Peoria.
