Judith A. “Judy” Wagner, age 72, of West Liberty, Illinois, passed away at 7:20 AM – Monday June 19, 2023, at the Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, Illinois.     

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 26, 2023, at St Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Sainte Marie, Illinois.  Burial will be in the St Mary’s Cemetery in Sainte Marie. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 PM – Sunday, June 25, 2023, at the church and again 10:00 to 10:30 AM – Monday, June 25, 2023, prior to the mass.  In loving memory of Judy, memorials may be made to the St Mary’s Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. Judith, better known as “Judy,” was born on October 14, 1950, in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Francis A. and Maude (Kistner) Wagner.  She graduated from Newton Community High School with the Class of 1968.  Following high school, she attended St. Francis College in Joliet and graduated with her bachelor’s degree.  Later she went back to school and got her degree in business.

Judy worked at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney for over 20 years.  She also worked at Richland Rehabilitation and Care Center and St Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church as the office manager.

Judy was a member of St Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Sainte Marie, Illinois.  She was a 4-H leader for several years and was a wonderful cook.

Judy is survived by:

Sisters – Caroline (Phillip) Gibson of Effingham, Illinois; Marie Wagner of West Liberty, Illinois; Patricia (William) Denham of Lawrenceville, Illinois; Nancy (Ron) Zwilling of Dundas, Illinois; and Mary (Elmer) Ochs of Olney, Illinois

Brother-in-law – Fred Ochs of Olney, Illinois

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Barbara Ochs.
