Steve Gross, 57, of Yale, IL, passed away at 11:23 am on Monday June 12, 2023, at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL.
Private family services will be held at a later date. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup is assisting the family.
Steve was born on September 23, 1965, the son of Jerry and Dorothy (Reisner) Gross, in Streator, IL. He is survived by his mother Dorothy (Arthur) Smith; son David Gross; daughter Charlie Blanc (Alex St. John); one grandchild Ryker Allen Stevens; girlfriend Brenda Franklin; brothers Ronald Gross and Wallace Gross; and sisters Iris (Llyod) McNurlan, Kathy Cisney, Karen (Mark) Haley, and Beth Morgan; step-brothers Jerry, James, Richard, and Bryan Smith.
He was preceded in death by his father, and brother-in-law Vernon Cisney.
Steve worked as a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed being outdoors, side by side riding, and old cars. He was always the first person to help his neighbors at any time in need.
