Norma Geraldine Linder (88) formerly of Olney

Norma Geraldine Linder, age 88, formerly of Olney, Illinois, passed away at 4:54 AM – Monday, June 12, 2023, at Mercy Hospital South – de Greeff Hospice House in St Louis, Missouri.

Funeral services celebrating Norma’s life will be held at 11:30 AM – Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Olney, Illinois, with Mike Baker officiating. The burial will be in the Saron Church of Grand Prairie Cemetery near Dundas, Illinois. Visitation will be held 10:00 to 11:30 AM Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the funeral home. Norma Geraldine was born on September 7, 1934, at the family home in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Gerald Vee and Edna Irene (Shaw) Hardacre. In 1952, she graduated from Bridgeport Township High School and later took numerous accounting and office management classes at Olney Community College. She was united in marriage to John W. Linder at Lawrenceville, Illinois, on September 27, 1953, following his return from a tour of duty with the US Army in Korea. John preceded her in death on September 17, 2020.

In addition to working with her husband in the family business over the years, Norma served as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, church secretary, 25-year member of HEA, director of Birthright, Hospice volunteer and One Call Now coordinator for Antioch Christian Church where she was affiliated.

Norma is survived by her children Susan K. (Richard) Hannasch, J. Michael (Beverly) Linder, Deborah G. (David) Linder-Watts, Mark W. (Michelle) Linder, sister D. Elaine Westall and seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Norma was predeceased by her husband John, parents, brother Richard L Hardacre, and two grandchildren, Kristie A. Linder and Bradley C. Linder.
