Nickie J Slone, age 82, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023 at her daughter’s home in Phoenix, AZ.
Private family services were held in Phoenix, AZ on Wednesday, June 7, 2023.
Nickie was born February 9, 1941 in Effingham, IL. She is the eldest child of Eugene and Edith Matthews. Nickie was an entrepreneur owning various beauty shops and thrift stores. She loved her family and will be greatly missed by them.
Nickie is survived by her mother Edith Matthews of Phoenix, AZ; son Donald (Pamela) Slone of Effingham, IL; daughters Cindy (Kevin) Gillespie of Effingham, IL, and Edye (Brian) Elliot of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren Matthew Slone, Gina Gillespie, and Jace Gillespie; two great grandsons Zane Slone and Jaxon Slone; her sister Betty (Mike) Englund and several nieces and nephews.
