Linda Lange, 78, of Effingham, Illinois passed away Friday, June 9, 2023 at HSHS St John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Effingham. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday prior to the service at the church. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.

Linda was born September 18, 1944 in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Donald and Lillian Dugan. She graduated from Effingham High School in 1962. She married James Lange on April 7, 1963. Jim and Linda had two daughters, Shelly and Sherry. Linda loved her two daughters and her five grandchildren. She and Jim would keep their grandchildren for several weeks in the summer, taking them traveling. She loved flower gardening and had ponds with goldfish and water lilies. She collected umbrellas and Victorian hats and articles. Linda worked at Murphy’s, Sears, had a store of her own in Arcola and was the bookkeeper for her and Jim’s shop, Lange Electric. She loved her Bunco group and traveling with friends. One of her loves was Paris, France where she traveled with her sister-in-law and two friends spending hours and hours on the Eiffel Tower to see the Paris lights at night. One of her enjoyments was attending teas and having teas with her granddaughter Nichole. She went many times to watch Jim set land speed records with his car on the Bonneville Salt Flats. She also loved her two dogs, Bailey and KC.
Linda is survived by her husband, Jim; daughters, Shelly (Diana Reif) Lange and Sherry (Jeff) Banner; grandchildren, Tyler, Blake and Nichole Banner and Kylie and Kendall Reif; sister, Carolyn Barker; sisters-in-law, Millie Lange and Michelle Lange; brother-in-law, Dennis Henry; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Lillian Dugan; her mother-and father-in-law, Henry and Delphia Lange; her sister, Jean Henry; brothers-in-law, Charles Barker and Tom Lange; and nephews, Chris Barker and Steve Temple.
