Richard E. O’Dell, 59, of Altamont, died at 3:17 a.m. Sunday, June 4, 2023, at his home.
A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Sidener Cemetery, rural St. Elmo with his brother Rev. Robert O’Dell officiating. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
Richard E. O’Dell was born on Friday, February 7, 1964 in Smyrna, TN at the Stewart AFB to Robert and Sandra (Richardson) O’Dell, Sr. He was a member of First Church of God, Vandalia and had been employed with Quad Graphics, Effingham.
He is survived by: his mother, Sandra and stepfather, Harry Braasch of Altamont; sons, Michael (Ashley) O’Dell and Matthew O’Dell both of Ashland, KY; daughters, Amanda O’Dell, Meghan (Steven) Sparks both of Ashland, KY and Anna Marie O’Dell of Moorehead, KY; brothers, Robert (Linda) O’Dell, Jr. of Unionville, TN and Dallas O’Dell of Manor, TX; sister, Bobbye Archer of Corpus Christi, TX; and nine grandchildren; R.J., Zachary, Amaree, Joshua, Levi, Phoenix, Wyatt, Kamron and Alex.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, father, and brother, Ron O’Dell.
