Casey A. Musson, a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandson, and friend, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023, in Stewardson, Illinois.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, in Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home in Windsor. Cremation rites will be accorded followed by a private family burial in Stewardson Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family for his children. Brummerstedt/Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Born on August 4, 1987, in Effingham, the son of Stacy Musson and Michelle (Tolen) Musson Swindell. He was a 2006 graduate of Stewardson-Strasburg High School. Casey was an excellent carpenter, known for his skill and attention to detail. Those who knew Casey best would describe him as an easy-going guy who never knew a stranger. His ability to fix just about anything was matched only by his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Casey’s infectious smile and warm presence could light up a room, and he made a lasting impact on the lives of those he encountered. A lover of the outdoors, Casey found solace and joy in nature. Whether he was hunting or simply spending time with his family, he was happiest when surrounded by the beauty of the natural world.
Casey is survived by his devoted wife, Tiffany Musson of Stewardson; his loving daughters, Brenna Musson of Strasburg, Libby Musson of Strasburg, Hadley Musson of Shelbyville, and Emma Pugsley of Stewardson; his father, Stacy (Stacey Barker) Musson of Stewardson; his mother and stepfather, Michelle (Keith) Swindell of Stewardson; his siblings, Cortney (Patrick) Zerrusen of Shumway, Cody (Kayla) Musson of Springfield, Corey (Mindy) Musson of Mode, Chaney (Victor) Arnold of Dieterich, and Jenae Swindell of Stewardson. Casey also leaves behind his grandmothers, Daisy Tolen of Stewardson and Sandra Duzan of Shelbyville, as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and his beloved dogs.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Lester Musson, Wayne Duzan, and Doug Tolen, his uncle, Tracy Musson, and one of his beloved dogs, Finn.
In his too-short life, Casey A. Musson touched the hearts of many. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandson, and friend. His memory will live on in the stories shared by his family and friends, and his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
