Catherine Grace (71) of Champaign

Catherine Marie (Cameron) Grace, 71, of Champaign, died at 7:00 a.m.Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Reverend Joseph Havrilka officiating. Burial will follow at St. Clare Cemetery, Altamont. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Effingham County Humane Society or any animal shelter of the donor’s choice.

Catherine Marie Grace was born on Saturday, June 9, 1951 in Vandalia to Henry W. “Hank” and Edna E. (Laux) Cameron. She married Lester Grace on August 9, 1997. She was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church, Altamont. She graduated from St. Elmo High School in 1969 and she retired as branch manager at Sterling United Federal Credit Union, Evansville and had worked at various banks over the years including People’s Bank, Altamont.

She is survived by her loving husband of over 25 years, Lester Grace, Champaign; sister, Shirley Schaub, Altamont; brother, Frank (Dot) Cameron, Shelbyville; many nieces and nephews; and her cat, Becca.

She was preceded in death by; her parents, Hank and Edna Cameron; sister, Doris and brother-in-law “Cap” Roedl; brothers, Bob Cameron and sister-inlaw, Kay and “Bill” Cameron and sister-in-law, Martha; and her beloved dog, Marley, two and a half weeks ago.
