Judy A. Houtchins (67) of Salem

Judy A. Houtchins, 67, of Salem passed away at 5:19 am Thursday, May 11, 2023 at the Deaconess Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana.

Judy was born on May 10, 1956 in Ivesdale, Illinois the daughter of Donald Harold and Nina (Jamison) Perry. She married Henry “Steve” Houtchins on March 12, 2003 and they shared 11 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on February 15, 2015. Judy was a very caring person, and would help anyone that needed help. She also loved to do embroidery work.

She is survived by her nephews: Troy (Lisa) David of Tolono, Illinois Todd (Darci) David of Champaign, Illinois, Tony Point of Texas; niece: Theresa David of Salem; great nieces and nephews: Krystal (Patrick) Shea of Rantoul, Illinois, Stephen Hutchison of Salem; special cousin: Christine Arnold of Carlyle, Illinois; special friend: Jimmy Cavins, and several other nieces, nephews, and friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Robert Perry, Marshall Lee Perry; sisters: Thelma Bruton, Joyce Cavins.

Graveside funeral services to celebrate the life of Judy will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at the Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Champaign, Illinois with Bryan Bennett officiating, and burial will follow. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening at the McGriff Funeral Home in Kinmundy where friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Judy’s memory to the Donor’s Choice with envelopes available at the funeral home.
