Bonita E. “Bonnie” Wagner, 94 of Teutopolis, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, April 24, 2023 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Effingham. Arrangements are in the care of Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Online condolences may be left by clicking here.

Bonnie was born August 29, 1928 in Louisville, the daughter of Clyde and Flora Rowan. She married Carl D. Wagner on December 6, 1953 in Louisville and he preceded her in death in 2016. Bonnie worked as the secretary at St. Michael’s School in Sigel. She was a member of the Effingham V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.

Bonnie is survived by her son, Joe (Donna) Wagner of Teutopolis; step-son, Delbert (Barb) Wagner of Wisconsin; grandsons, Adam (Morgan) Wagner of Teutopolis and Brett Wagner of Pekin; sisters, Muriel Farthing and Norma O’Brien of Marion, Dorothy Carter of Effingham, and Linda (Dave) Schumacher of Sigel; brother, Don Rowan of Marion; several nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Robert and Charles Rowan; step-daughter, Carolyn Dardeen; three nephews; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law.
