Rodney E. McCain (65) of Altamont

Rodney E. McCain, 65, of Altamont, died at 11:40 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Linda Dippold officiating. Burial will follow at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery, rural Altamont. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Monday, April 17, 2023 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.

Rodney was born on Tuesday, December 3, 1957 in Vandalia, IL to Charles and Johanna (Geeris) McCain. He was employed part time for Deb’s Catering, Altamont and retired from Ryder System Inc., St. Elmo.

He is survived by; his brother, Steven (Kim) McCain, Altamont; sisters, Lisa Tipsword, Effingham and Shelby (Adam) Robertson, Altamont; step-sisters, Renee (Jamie) Beccue, Altamont and Brandi (Matt) Wilson, Mason; step-mother, Lori McCain, Altamont, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by; his father; brother, Roy McCain; and nephews, Glenn Johnson III and Shane Finn.
