Robert “Bob” L. Adams, 84, of Strasburg, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at home, surrounded by the love of his family.

Bob was born on October 1, 1938, in Kirksville, the son of Cyril and Vera Mae (White) Adams. He was a hardworking man, dedicated to providing for his family. After graduating from Shelbyville High School in 1956, he worked for The Oliver Corporation in Shelbyville and later for World Color Press in Effingham. Bob was a man of deep faith, which was the foundation of his life. He was a faithful member of the New Horizons Church in St. Elmo, where he served the Lord and his community with devotion and passion. His unwavering belief in the goodness of the Lord was an inspiration to all who knew him. He enjoyed frequenting auctions, gardening, camping and spending time with his loved ones, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Bob was a loving husband to his wife of 64 years, Kay of Strasburg, and together they built a beautiful life and family. He was a proud father to his four children: Tammy Benton of Lovington, Bobby Adams of Effingham, Sally (Jack) Ooton of Xenia, and David Adams of Strasburg. Bob's love extended to his eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyril and Vera Mae (White) Adams; daughter, Bonnie at infancy; son-in-law, Joseph Benton; two brothers: Cyril and Leo and three sisters: Phyllis, Ella Mae, and Geraldine.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023, in Brummerstedt Funeral Home in Stewardson. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2023, in Brummerstedt Funeral Home with Pastor Kent Denton officiating. Burial will take place in Stewardson Cemetery.
