Shane D. Bales, 39 of Effingham, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm Friday, April 7, 2023 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in Arborcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to his daughter, Josey.
Shane was born March 31, 1984 in Effingham, the son of Samuel Bales Jr. and Karen (Pruemer) Bales. His whole world was Josey, Karen, and Mandy. He always said he had three women trying to run his life. Shane took care of his women well. His other love was music. Shane was a talented guitarist known for playing in Van Waylon Band, Josie & The Handsome SB’s, and most recently, The Bryor Rhodes Band. Shane also taught guitar lessons to many students who he adored teaching. He had so many people that loved him dearly. Shane was a well-known meme master and Facebook sensation. He was known as one of the funniest guys around; always had a joke. Shane was one of the most kind-hearted men. He loved everyone and would help anyone. Shane was also known to take a dare and could be caught wearing a dress or an Evel Knievel suit.
Shane is survived by his daughter, Josey Bales of Teutopolis; mother, Karen Bales of Effingham; father, Samuel Bales of Clanton, AL; brother, Sam (Chrissy) Bales III of Edinburg; fiancé, Mandy Beccue of Effingham; several aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as many friends and fellow musicians.
