William Charles Court (77) of Mason

William Charles Court, 77, of Mason, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at home surrounded by his family.

Per Bill’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a Celebration of his Life will be held at his home at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023 with Pastor Larry Clonch officiating. Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham, IL is assisting the family.

William was born on October 1, 1945, in Peoria, IL, the son of William F. and Virginia L. (McDonna) Court. He married Linda Edwards on July 27, 1967; together they shared 55 years of marriage. In 1972 Bill and Linda moved to St. Louis, MO where he started Co-Lectro Painting, Inc. Bill owned and operated his business until 2003, when he and Linda moved to Mason, IL. Bill enjoyed the outdoors; especially hunting and fishing. He enjoyed projects such as restoring a 1946 Willys Jeep that was used in WWII.

William is survived by his wife Linda Court of Mason; sons, Mike Court of Edwardsville and Brian Court of Keyesport; grandchildren, Maura Court of St. Louis, MO and Caleb Court of Edwardsville; brothers, Michael (Elaine) Court of Indianapolis, IN and Thomas (Sue) Court of Fort Wayne, IN; sisters, Christine Cunningham of Indianapolis, IN, Cynthia (Randy) Cambridge of Indianapolis, IN, and Mary Beth McKean (Mike Rader); and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; niece, Colleen Court and her son Tobias Court; and brother-in-law, Jack Cunningham.
