William "Billy" Sarver (71) of Shelbina, MO, formerly of Herrick

William “Billy” Sarver, age 71, of Shelbina, MO, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal MO.

The Celebration of Life for Billy will be this Saturday, February 25th at the Herrick Baptist Church, Herrick, IL from 3 to 5 pm. Bring good stories and photos if you have any to share. 

Billy was born on September 18, 1951, the son of William Dickerson and Elsie May (Gottman) Sarver.

He is survived by his daughters, Tami Lynn Devore (husband Dru) and Sasha Dawn Lee (husband John); his son, William “Ricky” Sarver; three step-daughters, Tammy Burke, Tonya McWhirter (husband Bill), and Stephanie Thornhill; two additional step-children; 14 grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 21 step great-grandchildren; three brothers, Vernon Sarver, Danny Sarver (wife Jenny), and Ronnie Sarver (wife Cindy); two sisters, Debbie Stake (husband Ron) and Cindy Sarver (special friend Kent Hogue); along with many, many nieces and nephews.

Billy was preceded in death by two nephews; his parents; his wife, Susan; and three step-children.

Billy enjoyed his Blue Front parrot, Ralphie who he had for over 30 years. He also loved riding motorcycles, painting scenery, and animals. He made Native American jewelry, carved bones and antlers, and also worked on cars. He said “I tried to enjoy life and live day by day as long and as much as the good Lord will let me.”
