Terry L. Paul (72) of Newton

Terry L. Paul age 72, of Newton passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Richland Nursing & Rehab in Olney, Illinois.

Funeral services celebrating Terry’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the Crain Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois with Rev. Steve Willis officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery, rural Jasper County, Illinois.

Terry was born on February 2, 1951, in Olney to Leo and Mary (Selby) Paul. He graduated from Richland High School with the Class of 1969. He worked at the Newton Power Plant for 30 years. He later worked for seven years at the Rural King in Olney and was currently working at the Effingham Walmart.

Terry loved to fish, deer hunt and bowl. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals. He LOVED spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his partner, Marsha Paul, his step-children LeAnn Jones of Casey, Kari Harris of Effingham and Chad Harris Newton; his grandchildren Harley (Austin) Harris of Effingham, Dalton (Taylor) Dasenbrock of Effingham, Brock (Arianna) Jones of Jacksonville, Chayce Dasenbrock of Effingham, Kyrsta (Adam) Dasenbrock of Charleston and Lilly Levandoske of Casey; great-grandchildren, Brylee Harris of Effingham, Sylar Nisbet of Effingham, Sawyer Dasenbrock of Effingham, Charlotte Jones of Jacksonville and Grayson Dasenbrock of Effingham; his two fur babies, Bella and Baby; sisters-in-law, Bobbi Paul of Brazil, Indiana, Verna (Johnny) Griffith, Vanessa Slane and Vellena (Tony) Schmidt all of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers David Paul and Gary Paul, father-in-law and mother-in-law Leroy “Chub” and Sylvia Slane, sisters-in-law Jeri Paul, Shirley Paul and Linda Miller and brother-in-law Ron Slane.
