Charlene Logue, 93, of St. Elmo died at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2023 at her home with her family by her side.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Jim Giffin officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, rural St. Elmo, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2023 and for one hour prior to service time. Memorials may be made to the St. Elmo Fire Department Smoke Alarm Program.

Charlene was born on Saturday, March 2, 1929 in Bloomington, IL to Charles and Florence (Rhodes) Kane. She married Louis Edward Logue on November 12, 1946. He preceded her in death on July 22, 1994. She was a member of Springhill Cumberland Presbyterian Church, past member of the St. Elmo American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Royal Neighbors of America. In addition to raising her family she retired from Lutheran Care Center, Altamont where she had worked for many years.

She is survived by: her son, Donnie Logue of Beecher City; daughter, Linda Evans of St. Elmo; 6 grandchildren, Sandra (Bruce) Albright, Stacy Logue, Crystal (Bryan) Riley, Michael (Devyn) Logue, Larry (Darlene) Logue, and Trenton (Jennifer) Logue and 10 great grandchildren, Tanner, Masan, Abby, Joel, Eli, Katie, Audria, Jayse, Spencer, and Marlie.

Charlene was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; sons, Ronnie and Larry Logue; brother, Clarence ‘Bud’ Kane; sisters, Marie (Louis) Meier; Nellie, Mandie, and Josephine in childhood and one sister in infancy; son-in-law, William ‘Bud’ Evans; and daughter-in-law, Peggy Logue.

Arrangements are pending at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont.
