Mary Ellen Bryant (86) of Altamont

Mary Ellen Bryant 86 years old, of Altamont went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ peacefully on early Tuesday morning January 10, 2023, at 3:29 AM at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham, Illinois being a patient for a few days and after a few years of a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday January 16, 2023, for family and friends at the Kull Funeral Chapel, Altamont, Illinois, with Rev. Jody Kitts of the Altamont Christian Church officiating. Family burial services will be held at a later date. A visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at noon.
Mary Ellen was born into the Christian family of Milton and Mary Davis-Spence. She was born on February 26, 1936, in the family home in Elderado, Illinois. Mary graduated from the Elderado Community High School, She then further her education and graduated from Van Buren Beauty School in Chicago, Illinois. Most of life she worked in retail food handling and packaging field. She also worked as a waitress at the former Green Lantern in Teutopolis, Illinois. She retired from K-Mart in 1981 after years of service.
Mary moved to and lived in Altamont from Freeburg, Illinois where she was a member of the Altamont Christian Church and enjoyed her flower garden and taking walks.
Memorials may be directed to the choice of the donor.
Mary Ellen is survived by her: 2-Sons: Brent Powel Bryant of Fayetteville, Illinois and his children: Jamie Bryant, Jenna (husband, Matt) Koesterer, Jon P. Bryant, Daren Todd (wife, Linda) Bryant of Crabuco Canyon, California and their children: Dereck, Jordan, and Dylan Bryant; 2-Daughters: Lisa Ellen (husband, Scott) Whiteside of Shelbyville, Illinois and their son Corey (wife, Ellen) Voelker and their children Millicent and Augustus Voelker, Dana Lynn (husband, Jeff) Stone of Mason, Illinois and their children Danielle (husband Jonathan) Miller and their children Graham and Evelyn Miller, Jeff (Katie Lapp) Stone and their children Hunter Schwendimen and Kara Stone.
She was preceded in death by: Parents: Milton Nondus Spence and Mary Thelma Davis-Spence.
