Bradley D. “Brad” Harvey, 70, of Herrin, IL, formerly of Effingham, IL, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at SIH Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Montrose Cemetery in Montrose, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Brad was born on October 29, 1952 in Newton, Illinois, the son of Glen Harvey and Jean (Sinclair) Harvey. He married Debra Holmes on July 10, 1981.
He is survived by his loving wife Deb; caring mother, Jean; devoted sister, Pam; brother and long-time farming partner, Brian (Twyla) Harvey; sons, Brad (Julia) Easter of Channahon, IL, and Brian (Jaime) Harvey of Carterville, IL; grandsons, Noah, Ethan and Theodore; granddaughter, Gabby; special niece, Taryn (BJ) Kaufman; and nephew, Lance (Jenna) Montgomery.
He was preceded in death by his father, Glen Harvey; and brother Rodney Harvey.
Brad’s life centered around farming (a.k.a. Harvey’s Hogs & Dogs), family, neighbors and friends. He enjoyed participating in and watching tractor pulls, NASCAR racing, and golfing with good friend Jerry Jansen. Brad was also an avid reader and loved watching, listening and attending St. Louis Cardinals and Fighting Illini games. He will be greatly missed.
