Donald Britton (61) of Effingham

Donald Britton, 61, of Effingham, died at 10:16 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at his home.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Donald Wayne Britton was born on Monday, September 4, 1961in Hammond, IN to Francis Wayne and Shirley Ann (Woods) Britton. He married Loni DeLong Avery on October 7, 2016 in Effingham. She preceded him in death on April 20, 2021. He was an auto body technician, enjoyed animals, cars, fishing, music, gardening and joking around.

He is survived by: daughter, Chelsey (Zain) Dingman of Bedford, IN; brother, Ronald (Ruth) Britton, Waco, GA, sisters, Carla (Kenny) Budde, Tallapoosa, GA, Susan (Charles Williams) Manning, Brownstown, and Nedra (Rick) Amys, Poplar, WI; grandson, Ian Dingman and close friend, Jason Vahling, Effingham.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister, Barbara Hendrickson.
