Robert “Bob” Ross Bieber, 78, of Beecher City, IL passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022, in Aperion Care in St. Elmo, IL.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2022, in the Kaskaskia Church, 1845 E 2700 Avenue, Beecher City, with Pastor Nick Robertson officiating. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City is assisting the family.

Bob was born on July 18, 1944, in Vandalia, the son of Robert Dallas and Irene Haden (Dunaway) Bieber. He was a resident of Fayette County his entire life and a lifelong farmer in Fayette County. Bob was a graduate of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and spent a summer studying abroad in Oxford, England. He had a true passion for travel and a love for trains. Bob loved to share stories of his work with the Peace Corps, especially of his time in Cameron, Africa where he, along with friends, crossed the Sahara Desert in a Land Rover. He also enjoyed visiting with neighbors over a cup of coffee. Bob was a member of the Kaskaskia Church in Beecher City. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by one sister, Betty Murfee and husband Ron of Beecher City; one niece, Regan Vance and husband Mark of Roanoke, VA; two nephews: Matthew Murfee and wife Lisa of Vandalia and Andrew Murfee of Washington, IN; three great-nieces: Catherine Vance, McKinley Murfee and Alicia Murfee and three great-nephews: Thomas Vance, Benjamin Vance and Calister Murfee.

Preceding him in death were his parents.
