William D. "Bill" Segdwick (77) of Greenup

William “Bill” D. Sedgwick, 77, of Greenup, IL passed away at 4:58 pm Sunday, December 18, 2022, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.
Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday December 21, 2022, at the Greenup Cemetery. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL is assisting the family.
Bill was born in Mattoon, IL on May 15, 1945, the son of Cleo “Bud” and Gwendolyn (Robbins) Sedgwick. He married Marsha Oakley on September 27, 1964.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years; daughters Michelle (Jeff) Neal and Carole (Shane) Mitchell; son Scott (Catelyn) Sedgwick; grandchildren Dakota Ferris, Taylor Neal, Dayton Mitchell, Zoe Mitchell, and Gideon Sedgwick.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bill graduated from Cumberland Class of 1963. He went to Eastern Illinois Univ. for one year and then came home and started farming with his dad. Bill served on the Cumberland School Board From 1986 to 1999 and was board president from 1989 to 1999. Bill was active with Greenup Little League for many years and coached all of his kids.
