Ricki Lynn Lapington (74) of Louisville

Ricki Lynn Lapington, 74, of Louisville passed away at 10:55 pm Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at her home in Louisville.

Ricki was born on January 14, 1948 in Louisville, the daughter of Arthur Rude and Murel Marie (Moore) Courtright. She married Wayne Lapington on January 12, 1973, in Casey, Illinois and they shared 49 years of marriage. Ricki was a fabricator at Crusade Enterprises in Flora, then later helped her husband with Lapington Water and Lapington Truck Service for many years. Ricki loved her vacations to Florida and Gulf Shores Alabama. She loved the ocean and loved to mushroom hunt in her "secret spot". Ricki enjoyed playing Bunco with her friends and always made time for her family. Ricki was a woman of strong faith.

Ricki is survived by her husband: Wayne Lapington of Louisville, Step-Mom: Janet Courtright of Dry Ridge, Kentucky; children: Sonja Harrison (Ray) of Vandalia, Misty Woods (Rick Feather) of Kinmundy, Terri (Danny) Lake of Effingham, beloved predeceased daughter: Christa Lapington, David (JoAnn) Lapington of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; grandchildren: Ashley Perry of Flora, Morgan Harvel of Louisville, Ariel (Freddie) Upchurch of Iuka, Kohl Harrison of Louisville, Madi Harrison of Louisville, Jayde Lake of Effingham, Jerah Marie Lapington of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Tyler Lake of Effingham, Mitch Lake of Georgia; 9 great and 12 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Roddy Allen (Patti) Courtright of Mt. Carmel, Arthur Scott (Chris) Courtright of The Villages, Florida, Kelly Joel (Cindy) Courtright of Flora, Michael Deon (Mary Ann) Brown of Louisville, Maria Jean (Mike) Jones of Louisville, Rhonda Lee Brown (Tim Highsmith) of Flora, Step-Sister: Sherri (Bill) Koopmans, and family of Dry Ridge, Kentucky; 2 brothers-in-law: James Lapington of Little Rock, Arkansas, Steve (Karen) Lapington of McLeansboro, Illinois; 3 sisters-in-law: Barbara Conley of Charleston, Illinois, Janet Leathers of Marion, Ohio, Judy Siegler of Mt. Carmel, Illinois.

Ricki was preceded in death by her parents; daughter: Christa Lapington; grandson: Jared Garver; Great grandson: Clinton Scott Musgrave; brother: Randy Lee Courtright; sister-in-law: Nancy Courtright: nephew Shane Courtright.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Ricki will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, December 23, 2022 at the McGriff Funeral Home in Louisville with Brent Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at the Orchard Hill Cemetery, Louisville. Visitation will be held on Friday at the funeral home where friends may come from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
