Daniel Adkins (59) of Wheeler

Daniel Paul Adkins age 59, of Wheeler, Illinois passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.

Funeral services celebrating Daniel’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2022, in the Latona Church of Christ with Pastor Eric Bridges officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 16th at Crain Funeral Home, Newton. Burial will be in the Chapel Cemetery, Newton, Illinois.

Daniel was born on January 4, 1963, in Pekin, Illinois, the son of Paul Melvin and Ruth (Stone) Adkins. On March 12, 1988, Daniel married Shanna D. Elmore. She survives. Daniel was a machine operator for Stevens Industries in Teutopolis, Illinois.

In his free time, Daniel enjoyed reading, boating and traveling. He enjoyed life. He especially loved spending time with family and friends.

He will be loved and remembered by his wife of thirty-four years Shanna Adkins of Wheeler; sons Paul Anthony Adkins of Wheeler and Bryce Lawrence Adkins of Newton; siblings Steve Adkins of Ohio; Tim McLouth of Peoria; Alan McLouth, wife Cindy of Peoria; Randy Adkins, wife Sharon of Annapolis and sister-in-law Shirley Adkins of Pellston, MI.

His parents, brother Stu Adkins and mother-in-law and father-in-law Larry and Carol Elmore preceded him in death.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Pinehaven Christian Ranch, St. Ignatius, Montana.
