Thomas Duncan Biddlecombe, 80, of Sun Lakes, Arizona, formerly of Shelbyville, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022, in the comfort of his home, with loved ones by his side.

He was born on December 30, 1941, to Dr. Duncan Biddlecombe and Eileen (Lavell) Biddlecombe. He grew up in Shelbyville, Illinois with his four siblings: sisters, Judith and Mary and brothers, John and James.  He was an avid reader and enjoyed watching his beloved Fighting Irish, Green Bay Packers and New York Yankees - idolizing Mickey Mantle as a kid.  Thomas was a hardworking man of strong character with an exceptional sense of humor that came out during his storytelling.

After graduating from Shelbyville High School in 1960, he attended Saint Ambrose University and earned a bachelor's degree in History.  During his time in college, he married his high school sweetheart, Margie Hendrix of Shelbyville, Illinois.  He loved his wife dearly and as such married her twice.  Thereafter, the pursuit of his career took the couple to Cedar Falls, Iowa.  While earning his degree and working for Proctor and Gamble in northeastern Iowa, Thomas and Margie raised their four children. Tom ended his career in sales working for SC Johnson.

Tom and Margie returned to Shelbyville to retire around friends and family. He and his wife moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 2021 to be close to family and enjoy warmer weather.

He is survived by his wife, Margie Carol; his four children: Robert Duncan of Chandler, Arizona, Thomas Patrick of Chandler, Arizona, Jennifer Eileen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Stephen Ara of Kansas City, Kansas and ten grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held later in Shelbyville, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a memorial donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org/give/memorial-and-dedications.htm. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville, Illinois is assisting the family.
