Donald D. Brugoto (84) of St. Elmo

Donald D. Brugoto, 84, of St. Elmo died at 8:30pm Friday, May 24, 2013 at Friendship Manor Nursing Home in St. Elmo.

Graveside services will be 11am Thursday, May 30 at Maplewood Cemetery in St. Elmo.  Visitation will be from 6-8pm Wednesday at C&A Pagel Funeral Home in St. Elmo.

He was born on December 26, 1928 in Vandalia, the son of Sam and Gladys A. (Pruett) Brugoto.  He married Emma S. Cook on June 28, 1950 in Vandalia and she preceded him in death on July 3, 2011.  He was a US mail carrier before retiring as postmaster.  He ran the St. Elmo Theater for many years.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and time at the Sportsman's Club.  He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and belonged to the Altamont VFW Post #7676 and St. Elmo American Legion Post #420.

Survivors include his sons, Gary Brugoto and wife Debbie of Carriere, Mississippi and Jerry Brugoto of Brownstown...daughter, Donna Rouleau and husband Mick of, Robert "Bob" Brugoto and wife Grace of Vandalia...sister, Maxine Cox of Bement... grandchildren Trisha Brugoto, Niki Huckstadt and Blake Hooker...and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents...his wife...and sisters, Emogene Scoggins and Margaret Marquis.
