Kurt F. Ziegler, 50, of Effingham, IL, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022, at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorials may be made to the family for Kurt’s children’s future education. Online condolences may be shared by clicking here.
Kurt was born August 7, 1972, in Effingham, IL, the son of Melvin and Donna (Grunloh) Ziegler of Effingham. Kurt married Dannie McElroy on July 16, 2010 in Effingham. Kurt attended Effingham High School and Olney Central College. He was employed at Lustig Custom Cabinets in Effingham and took pride in what he did. Kurt was well known and well loved. Kurt was an avid golfer. He loved being able to drive his cart right onto the course and play whenever he wanted. He was a member of the Effingham Country Club and looked forward to playing in league, Saturday games and tournaments throughout the year. He never could sit still and aways wanted to be busy. He enjoyed being with his friends, working in the lawn and his woods, but above all he loved his family and his children.
Kurt is survived by his wife Dannie, daughter Quinn (10), son Graham (6) and mother, Donna Ziegler, all of Effingham; niece, Joey Scheier of New Jersey; uncles, Bob Ziegler of Texas, Dale (Marsha) Ziegler of Greenup, Ronnie (Tess) Ziegler of Chatham, John (Pat) Ziegler of California and Ronnie (LuAnn) Grunloh of Dieterich; aunts, Judy Ziegler, Shirley Ziegler and Sue (Terry) Monroe, all of Effingham; and many, many cousins from Effingham as well as around the country.
Kurt was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Ziegler; grandparents, Kurt (Ethel) Zielger; grandparents, Frederick (Mary) Grunloh; aunts, Mardel Carter, Ginger Ziegler, and Lowanda Eubank; and uncles, Lloyd (Arlene) Ziegler and Larry Grunloh.
