Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 21 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Effingham. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 10- 11 a.m. Monday prior to the service at the church. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Alice was born August 24, 1934, in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of Albert and Mary Violet Frimel. She married Harry Brasel July 8, 1956. He preceded her in death October 9, 2017.
Alice graduated from Odin High School in Odin in 1952. She was a bookkeeper for the Sears Catalogue Store in Effingham for many years. Alice was also a faithful volunteer at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital and Catholic Charities in Effingham. She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church in Effingham. Alice loved her family and enjoyed holiday family gatherings and genealogy.
Alice is survived by her son, Jeffry (Elise) Brasel of Glen Carbon; grandchildren, Caitlin (Karl) Beck of St. Louis, MO, Tony (Tera) Brasel of Maryville, IL, AJ (Jeanne) Brasel of Carol Stream, IL, Jordan DeWilde of Rockford, IL, Amanda (Zach) Bowman of St. Louis, MO, and Zach Brasel of Glen Carbon, IL; great-grandchildren, Noah and Madelyn Brasel of Carol Stream, IL and Griffin and Marshall Beck of St. Louis, MO; sister-in-law, Nancy Frimel of Odin and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry; daughter, Marsha; and brother, David.
