Robert “Bob” Dean Lotz, 75, of Shobonier, Illinois passed away at 7:35 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2022 at his home. 

Funeral service will be at 11a.m. Saturday, November 19 at Augsburg Immanuel Lutheran Church in Shobonier with a two-hour viewing prior to the service. Pastor Timothy Landskroener will be officiating. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials may go to Immanuel Church Cemetery Fund or the donor’s choice. Bob was born May 15, 1947 in Vandalia, Illinois, the son of Carl Edward and Ella Pauline (Knecht) Lotz. He married Carol Jean Kaiser July 4, 1970 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Bob served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1968 and earned a Purple Heart during his time in the service. He was a member of the Augsburg Immanuel Lutheran Church in Shobonier and a former member of the St. Peter American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, and spending time with his family and friends. 

He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Woods of Brownstown and Stephenie Craig (husband Chris) of Shobonier; grandchildren, Ryan Schmollinger (wife Katie) of Sandoval and Tyler Craig of Vandalia; great-grandchildren, Nora, Ella, and Rosa Schmollinger. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ella Lotz; his beloved wife, Carol Lotz; brother, Donnie Lotz, son-in-law, Chris Woods; and granddaughter, Nichole Schmollinger.
