Warren Douglas Peters, 82, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Hilltop Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Charleston, IL.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Effingham with military rites. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2022 prior to the service at the funeral home.

Warren was born on May 19, 1940, the son of Walter and Gertrude Peters. Warren was born in Chicago, IL, spending much of his time growing up in both Illinois and Sandusky, Wisconsin. Warren enjoyed motorcycles, cars, and model trains. He also had a love for exploring. Warren spent time in the U.S. Army from August 1963 – August 1965 where he was both awarded the marksman and sharpshooters badges. After the service, Warren worked at Dudek & Bock Spring MFG in Chicago where he retired in 2007.
Warren is survived by his nephew, Scott Peters and his wife, Regina of Cortland, IL; and niece, Tracy Scott of San Clemente, CA.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents.
