Luella C. Buscher (97) of Teutopolis

Luella C. Buscher, 97, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at her home in Teutopolis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 7, 2022 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 pm to 6 pm Sunday at the church. Memorial donations may be given to the donor’s choice.
Luella was born June 30, 1925 in Effingham County, the daughter of Aloysius and Josephine (Dust) Repking. She married Louis Herman Buscher on October 1, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 2005.
Luella was a member of the ladies sodality of St. Francis Parish. She did laundry for years for the Franciscan Seminary and ironings for other members of the community. Luella also worked at Wessel’s Grocery for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching the Cardinal ballgames and Illini games, doing puzzle books, and watching the grandkids and great-grandkids.
Luella is survived by her sons, Gary (Kathy) and Alan (Marilyn), both of Teutopolis; daughter, Linda (Tom) Lidy of Island Grove and Karen (John) Rubsam of Carlyle; twelve grandchildren, Mitchell, Michael, Alicia, Anita, Bob, Maria, Tina, Susan, Nancy, Ryan, Kari and Andy; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty (Tom) Pals of Effingham, Mary Jane (Joe) Bierman of Newton, Wilma (Joe) Beckman of Teutopolis, Evelyn (Ronald) Probst of Effingham, Bernice (Norbert) Lohman of Teutopolis, Margie (John) Asbury of St. Louis, MO and sisters-in-law, Betty Buscher of Teutopolis and Pauline Repking of Effingham.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, Thomas; great-granddaughter, Holly Lidy; siblings, Vernon “Mike” Repking, Louis (Doris) Repking, Louise (Jim) Deters, Lorraine (Jim) Zerrusen and Sister Ruth Ann Repking; sisters-in-law, Florence (Bernard) Westendorf, Lucille (Henry) Pruemer, Martha (William) Pruemer, Celeste (John) Pruemer; brother-in-law, Joseph Buscher.
