Christian M. Scaggs, 15, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022 in Lake Villa, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham with visitation from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, November 3, 2022 in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be shared by clicking here.
Christian was born on April 24, 2007, in Olney, Illinois, the son of Joshua M. Scaggs and Jenny L. Huynh. Christian was very smart, talented, and he had so much potential. He loved the outdoors. He wanted to be a cosmetologist and was very artistic. Christian was a math genius and loved playing basketball, being on the basketball and track teams in Junior High. Christian would go above and beyond for his loved ones. He was so silly, so strong-willed, extremely brave, sweet, generous, and very unique.
Christian is survived by his mother, Jenny L. Huynh; father, Joshua M. Scaggs; brothers, Zalen L. Hamilton and Cameron Carrington; grandmothers, Tammye Burge and Lois Rodriguez; and grandfathers, Michael Burge and Ralph Scaggs.
He was preceded in death by his aunt on mother’s side, Jami L. Smith (Hamilton); great-grandparents on father’s side, Frank and Lois Swartz and Maynard and Nola Scaggs; and uncle on father’s side, Scott Swartz.
