Joyce Ann Dow (81) of Hidalgo

Joyce Ann Dow, age 81, of Hidalgo, Illinois, passed away at 4:30 PM Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at her home.

Funeral services celebrating Joyce’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 1, 2022, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. Burial will be in the Hays Cemetery west of Hidalgo, Illinois. Visitation will be held 9:00 – 11:00 AM Saturday, at the funeral home. Joyce was born on March 15, 1941, in Hidalgo, Illinois, the daughter of Horace and Hazel (Darling) Reisner. She married Leroy Eugene Dow, on October 4, 1958, in Newton, Illinois. Joyce retired from the Jasper County Community School District No 1 after 25 years of service as a cook. She was a member of the Hidalgo Baptist Church and the Casey coon hunter’s club. Joyce was a wonderful cook and made wonderful pies and cakes. She enjoyed raising flowers, embroidering, and spending time with her family.

Joyce is survived by: Husband – Leroy Dow of Hidalgo, Illinois; Children – David Dow of Newton, Illinois; Robin Donaldson (Kit Jackson) of Hidalgo, Illinois; and Rick Dow of Mattoon, Illinois; Grandchildren – Andy (Beth) Dow, Brandi (Luke) Florey, Megan (Leann) Butler, Felicia Donaldson, Brayden Dow, Logan Dow, Brennan Dow; Great Grandchildren - Caleb Dow, Greyson Dow, Martin Loy, Miley Loy, Ethan Florey, Tyler Florey, and Waylon Dow.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Betty Holmes, Gene Reisner, Burl Reisner, and Mary Brackett.
