Mildred Pauline Gearing, 95, of Newton died at 10:50am Friday, May 17, 2013 at Heartland Health Care Center in Champaign.

Funeral services will be at 12 noon Tuesday, May 21, at Crain Funeral Home in Newton.  Visitation will be from 10am to service time Tuesday.  Burial in West Lawn Cemetery, Newton.  Memorials to Grace United Methodist Church in Newton.

She was born February 5, 1918 in Rose Hill, the daughter of Elza and Daisy Allison.  She graduated from Newton Community High School in 1936.  She married Delbert L. Romack on December 14, 1938 and he preceded her in death on December 26, 1972.  She married Robert Gearing on March 27, 1982 and he preceded her in death on February 16, 1995.  She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Newton and the Household Science Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Cummins and husband Jerry of Danville and Sandra Morgan and husband David of Slidell, Louisiana...daughter-in-law, Sharon Romack Smith of Newton...nine grandchildren, Ronda Mahaffey, Randy Romack, Robin Peterson, Jamee Fouts, John Cummins, Jay Cummins, Susan Humes, Greg Morgan and Aimee Smith...and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Keith D. Romack on January 22, 2003...her brother, Elza Alllison, Jr....and her sister, Rowena McCoy.
