Afshin H. Tabrizi (61) of Newton

Afshin H. Tabrizi, age 61, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 5:50 AM Tuesday, September 21, 2022, at his home.

Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, September 28, 2022, with service to follow, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. In loving memory of Afshin, memorials may be made to the Jasper County Cancer Fund. The obituary can be viewed, and condolences left by clicking here. 

Afshin was born on December 4, 1960, in Tabrizi, Iran, the son of Bagar and Safia Tabrizi. He owned and operated A&T Construction, and his work ethic and dedication to his trait was like none other. Afshin thought of others before himself, making him a joy to those around him. He was an avid poker player and loved trips to the riverboat. He also enjoyed taking trips, often his treasure hunting turned into an adventure. Afshin enjoyed playing his pinball machines, shooting pool and was a Chicago Bears fan. 

Afshin is survived by: Loving companion – Sandra Moore of Newton, Illinois; Children – Justin Tabrizi of Newton, Illinois; Tessa Tabrizi of Newton, Illinois, Jennifer Carson of Newton, Illinois and Melissa Moore of Rose Hill, Illinois; Brother - Fardin and wife Andrea Tabrizi; Nieces - Sarah Tabrizi and Melissa Tabrizi; 6 Grandchildren; Loyal friend - Jeff Hyatt of Willow Hill, Illinois.

Afshin was preceded in death by his parents.
