Mark Joseph Moomaw, 69, of Stewardson, IL, passed away Thursday morning, September 15, 2022, in Stewardson, IL.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home.
Mark was born April 20, 1953, in Effingham, IL, the son of William Joseph “Joe” and Carolyn June (Bly) Moomaw. He graduated from Stewardson-Strasburg High School in 1971, and married Janice K. Ruff on June 28, 1980, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Strasburg, IL. Mark worked many years at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL, International Paper in Shelbyville, IL, and owned and operated Moomaw Horseshoeing in Stewardson, IL. He enjoyed riding horses, spending time at his farm, and being with his family - especially his grandsons.
He is survived by his wife, Janice; two sons, Adam Moomaw and wife, Regan, of Sullivan, IL, and Zach Moomaw of Chicago, IL; and three grandsons, Owen, Abram, and Cameron Moomaw all of Sullivan, IL.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wm. Joseph “Joe” Moomaw; mother, Carolyn Moomaw; daughter, Kristin Moomaw; and brother, Grant Moomaw.
